The problem with cheap MOTs
The MOT is a legal check carried out to a strict DVSA standard. But when the garage testing your car is also the garage that would repair it, there is a built-in conflict of interest. A low MOT fee gets your car through the door, and any failure is an opportunity to sell repair work.

You are free to take it anywhere for repair. We explain each item on the refusal certificate in plain English, separate what must be fixed from advisories, and give you a fair idea of costs. Once it is repaired, bring it back and we will explain the retest options.
