Who we are
Why choose Greenwood Test Centre Blackpool?
First and foremost, we are passionate about giving value for money and a great service to all of our new and existing customers.
Secondly, and probably most importantly, we are honest about how parts of the industry work. Many people are drawn in by low test fees and then hit with high repair costs. Plenty of garages that also do MOTs charge a low test fee to get first refusal on any repair work that may be needed. Those garages tend to have a higher failure rate than test centres that do not do repairs.
MOT stations that are also repair garages recoup their loss on a low cost fee through failures and the repair costs that follow.

Our story
Nearly five decades in Blackpool
1978
Greenwoods is born
Paddy Nyland opens Greenwood Garage Blackpool, offering MOT testing and general repairs. With himself and one full-time member of staff, the business grows from strength to strength.
1980
The MOT specialists
Greenwood becomes a specialist MOT testing centre and expands its testing facilities. With 2 service bays and the ability to test Class 7 light commercials, Greenwood can test over 30 vehicles a day with 4 full-time testing specialists.
Today
Still MOT only
Decades on, we still only do MOTs. With a large bay for motorhomes, easy booking and free pick-up and drop-off, we are the honest choice for drivers across Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre.

No conflict of interest
We do not sell repairs, parts or servicing. A pass or a fail makes no difference to our income.
Fair advice if you fail
We will tell you what a repair should reasonably cost and where you can go, so you are not overcharged.
